What's Happening in Medina This Week, September 14-20, 2026

After the five-concert rush of last week, this one settles into a gentler, early-fall rhythm: Pitbull closes out a quieter Blossom week on Wednesday, the Sharon Women's Club Fall Fest and Pumpkin Village at Mapleside bring the season's first pumpkin fun to the area, and the Open Door Tour invites you behind the doors of Medina's historic buildings. Farmers markets keep their Saturday rhythm, and a pair of great shows at the Akron Civic Theatre round out the weekend. Here is your guide to the week ahead.

This is the week the calendar officially tips into fall, even if the weather holds onto summer a little longer. There is no single huge festival anchoring the week, and that is exactly what makes it a nice one to get out and simply enjoy the community: a quieter Blossom night, the first pumpkin patches opening across the county, farmers markets full of apples and mums, and a chance to peek inside the historic buildings that give Medina its character. Let's get into it.

Monday, September 14

Yoga on the Green in Downtown Akron

Start the week outdoors with a free community yoga class in the Northside District of downtown Akron. Yoga on the Green, part of the city's Wellness on the Plaza series with Yoga Squared, runs from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on the green. Bring a mat or towel and enjoy a stretch under the early-fall sunshine. It is a relaxed, welcoming way to begin the week and meet some neighbors.

Around Town This Week

Fall hiking programs are in full swing. The Medina County Park District's 20th annual Trekking Through Autumn runs now through November 30: complete at least eight designated hikes at your own pace to earn an award. Cuyahoga Valley National Park's Fall Hiking Spree is also underway, rewarding explorers of the park's 125-plus miles of trails. Both are free to begin and a wonderful way to get outside as the weather turns. Visit medinacountyparks.com to learn more.

A scenic weekend train ride. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad keeps its National Park Scenic round trips running through the month, with weekend departures from the Peninsula Depot and Rockside Station. As the leaves just begin to shift color, a ride down the valley is a relaxing, family-friendly way to see the park from a different angle. Check cvsr.org for the schedule.

A quieter week at Blossom. After last week's five-concert marathon, this week holds just the single Pitbull show on Wednesday, so the venue is far less frantic. The season's final stretch still has dates to come, including Bryson Tiller on September 25, so if you have been eyeing any of the late-September shows, now is a good time to grab tickets.

Mark your calendar for next week. The big Medina Fall Festival lands Saturday, September 26, so this weekend is a lovely warm-up with the farmers markets and Pumpkin Village. More details on the festival itself will come in next week's note.
